X-rays
Introduction
X–rays are basically a type of radiation which is called electromagnetic waves. we use X–ray for scanning human body to take an image of the inside of your body, especially bones. By the help of different absorption rate of radiation, we can create an image on photographic film because different tissues absorb different amounts of radiation. Calcium in our bones are absorbs by x–rays the most, so bones look white.
Invention
x-rays were discovered by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1845. he was a professor at the University of German working with cathode ray tube experiment and he will observe the fluorescent glow produced at the photographic film near the cathode ray tube. the tube is made of glass envelope (bulb). The tube has two electrodes of metals one was a positive and other was a negative electrode. all the air was removed from the tube and high voltage is applied to this tube then it will produce a fluorescent glow inside the tube .when Roentgen cover this tube with heavy black paper this tube will produce a green fluorescent by material which is placed few feet away for the tube.

Roentgen concludes that new type of ray is being emitted for the tube. he found that ray can pass through thick materials and show some florescent on photographic film. every solid body has different fluorescent on film. so he makes some images of the solid body passing these rays and also discover that this ray cannot pass through the tissue of and not pass through bones of human and metals objects. most of the materials of substance showing a very casting shadow image on photographic film. First experiments of roentgen were performed in 1895 was an x-ray of his wife’s hand by using a film, It is very interesting about the first time he use of X-rays . which was used for an industrial purpose (not medical) as application, as Roentgen produced a radiography of a set of weights in a box to show his colleagues.
Roentgen’s discovered a scientific bombshell and he was gaining an extraordinary interest by two scientist and laymen. Many scientists from the world could duplicate his experiment. due to the cathode tube experiment most understood during this period. Most of the scientists can drop other lines of research to follow the unknown rays. Newspapers and magazines of the day provided the public with numerous stories, some true, others fanciful, about the properties of the newly discovered rays.

Public fancy was caught by this invisible ray with the ability to pass through solid matter, and, in conjunction with a photographic plate, provide a picture of bones and interior body parts. Most scientific will try to demonstrate the concept of a wavelength shorter than light. This generated a new opportunities in physics and open a medical field for physics , and for investigating the many structure of matter on the basis of x rays . Too much fervor was generated about the potential of a applications of rays which are used as an aid in medicine and surgery purpose. During this month after they announced a discovery, numerous medical radiographs had been created in Europe and the United States, which were be used by surgeons to get proper help for their work. In the month of the June 1896, after six month Roentgen announced his discovery about X-rays . which were b used in battlefield by physicians to find a bullets in a wounded soldiers.
